JBA Architects is a Cape Town-based architectural studio founded in 2004 by Jeanette Schachler (née Bertsch). Originally from Münster, Germany, Jeanette brings a European design sensibility shaped by her education and early professional experience abroad. Since establishing the firm, she has built a practice rooted in thoughtful, context-driven design - combining modern aesthetics with deep respect for the local environment.
Our Story
Over the years, JBA Architects has evolved from its initial focus on residential architecture to encompass luxury domestic buildings and comprehensive interior design services. This expansion caters especially to international clients seeking an all-inclusive architectural solution in South Africa.

Jeanette Schachler
Jeanette was born and educated in Munster, Germany. After travelling abroad, she settled in Cape Town in 2000, and from thereon her architectural career was grounded.
Junior Architect
Muhammad Khan
Muhammad was born and educated in South Africa, completing his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Based in Cape Town, he has built a solid foundation in architectural practice, gaining experience across multiple firms and projects. His career is rooted in a strong, process-driven approach, with a focus on visualization, technical drawings, and on-site coordination.
